Tell us a little about yourself, and how it was you got involved in staffing and recruitment?
Tyler Hippler: My name is Tyler Hippler and I am from Sharon, Massachusetts; I went to Providence College where I graduated from the 4+1 program with my undergraduate degree in Marketing as well as my MBA. After graduation I started my journey in the staffing and recruiting space, originally working for a Healthcare Staffing company, before I was introduced to and ultimately joined the team here at Planet Professional.
How long have you been with Planet Professional? Can you share with us a career highlight or two from your time with the company?
TH: I have been with Planet Professional since March of 2024. I would say my career highlights thus far include my recent promotion and having my first completed agreement and filling my first role back in July with the help of our amazing recruiting team as well as my boss.
Can you tell us about your experience with the TPG SDR program? What were some of the most important things you learned there?
TH: I had a great experience within the SDR program at TPG. Within my first week at TPG, I received so many great trainings to really help me gather an understanding of the business and the many tools at our disposal to help us succeed in the role. Having bi-weekly check-ins with our management team has helped me to really improve not only my prospecting ability but to also understand the progression of the sales cycle within the staffing industry and where I need to improve and grow personally. Additionally, being able to sit in the pit around our amazing sales and recruiting team has really allowed me to learn and see real time deals/conversations as they happen. I get to observe more experienced staff and see how they solve problems, and that’s taught me a lot about how to handle situations that may arise. Not to mention being in the program with other talented up and coming reps who you can share tips, common objections faced, and different strategies with.
How has this experience in the SDR program translated into success in your career?
TH: Through all of the training and personalized feedback I have received since joining TPG I have really been able to continue to grow and develop and apply all of the knowledge I have gained into my day-to-day activities in the role.
What’s one fun fact about yourself that your clients don’t know?
TH: A fun fact about me that my clients don’t know is that I am a very big Boston Sports fan, and I am currently a season ticket holder for both the New England Patriots and the Providence College Basketball team.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
TH: I would travel to England so I could attend a Manchester United game, as I am a massive soccer fan and they are my favorite team and I have always wanted to see them play live in the Premier League.
What advice would you give to up-and-coming graduates eager to embark on their career journey?
TH: I would say to put in the work up front by showing up early and staying late, and to try to learn as much as you can from the people around you who are succeeding. Doing this will help you build a strong foundation and also give you a sense of the types of strategies that you need to implement in order to succeed.
Lastly, can you talk about what you enjoy most about working at TPG and Planet Professional?
TH: The thing I enjoy most about working at TPG as well as Planet Professional would have to be the relationships I have built with my coworkers. Over the past 7 months, I have gotten to know a lot of our team on a personal and professional level through events such as our company happy hours, Fantasy Football League, and March Madness bracket. It’s also great to have lunch with my Planet Professional and Plant Technology coworkers in the Bedford office every day.
