POSITION PURPOSE:

The Director of FP&A leads Global Financial Planning & Analysis and will work with the Executives to support the company’s accelerated growth.  The role will be tasked with analysis, Budget preparation and tracking and reporting by Department.  The Director of FP&A provides support to the CFO, CEO, Executives and Budget Owners, and reports to the CFO.

 

This role owns Budget preparation, Actuals tracking vs Budget by Department and both recurring and Ad-Hoc analysis also supports the CFO on understanding trends on expenses to adjust forecasting as needed.  The Director of FP&A also leads regular analysis and reporting and works with her key customers on ad-hoc analysis which are needed to support the business.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads and manages the yearly Budget preparation process, creating the bottom-up Budget plans by Department and working with the CFO to prepare Consolidated Budgets.
  • Reviews Actuals vs Budgets with Budget Owners for accuracy and trends.  Supports the team to identify opportunities to stay within Budget where possible.  Track savings ideas against Budget challenges. 
  • Reviews operations for cost-savings opportunities and work cross-functionally to incorporate these initiatives
  • Identifies key data sources and utilize data-driven insights about important departmental metrics to improve business decisions
  • Coordinates, prepares, and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual rolling forecasts and prepare reporting on actuals vs. budgeted results, including additional ad-hoc analysis on results
  • Continues to enhance analytics to support business decisions by timely and periodically preparing the following analysis and working with the business on recommended actions:
    • Profitability by customer
    • Profitability by item in NA
    • International Profitability by Customer and by item
  • Provides analysis to support investment and pricing decisions, such as:
    • Promotional analysis
    • Marketing ROI analysis
    • Price Elasticity analysis
    • Review price sheets by customer for opportunities
  • Works with Sales to identify opportunities to optimize our cost to serve through different channels and with multiple selling agents (commissions)
  • Supports monthly closing processes.  Owns Management Financial reporting for monthly reporting to the Board and All Hands
  • Provides data to Science and Research department to aid in completing quarterly and annual EPA reporting
  • Leads major projects and ad hoc analyses as directed by the CFO and the executive team
  • Perform other job-related duties as required
