Job Summary/Description:
- Preparation and filing of all SEC reports (Form 10-Qs, Form 10-Ks, Form 8-Ks, Proxy Statements), including draft footnotes, coordinating disclosures with internal departments, and preparation of disclosure checklist to ensure accuracy and timeliness for the Company’s SEC filings.
- User of SEC Reporting tool ActiveDisclosure software used to file SEC reports, including iXBRL review and compliance, and software proficiency and maintenance.
- Maintenance of the quarterly reporting key dates, SEC reporting calendar and monitor progress against internal reporting timing.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations. Research technical accounting matters and preparation of technical accounting memo to ensure compliance with US GAAP.
- Keep current, research and evaluate in the implementation of new accounting standards and reporting rules and regulations as required.
- Assist in the development of reporting capabilities including standard financial reports and management reports to support technical accounting determinations and senior leadership decision making.
- Prepare requested analyses, reports and documentation to expedite an effective and efficient internal audit and external audit process and ensure SOX compliance.
- Support with special projects and analyses, where necessary.
Qualifications
Primary skills and knowledge required include, but are not limited to the following:
- Experience with technical accounting, research and reporting.
- Advanced understanding of SEC reporting requirements and comprehensive and current understanding of US GAAP, including recently issued accounting pronouncements.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley and internal control frameworks.
- Ability to meet deadlines, attention to details and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment.
- Positive attitude, be flexible and a team player.
- High integrity and exceptional work ethic.
Level of Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, finance or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant designation.
Number of Years of Experience in the Function and in the Industry:
- 6+ years combination of corporate reporting industry experience and public accounting experience and recent public company experience. Big 4 or top tier national public accounting experience highly preferred. Biotechnology / pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
