Payroll Administrative Assistant
6-month contract – possible to extend

Job Location: San Diego, CA 92121

Hours: Standard M-F

Industry: Real Estate, Property Management, Construction

Size: 3 – Manager and 2 Specialists (this position is covering for one of the Specialists)

Interview Process: Phone interview, possible second interview

Must Haves:
Microsoft Office (outlook, word, excel)

Preferred:
Workday experience
FPC or CPP certification
Multi-state payroll experience
* Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred

Payroll Manager

Education/Certificates:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Associate’s or Bachelor’s in business, accounting or relevant field preferred
Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) a plus

Experience:
2+ years of Administrative Experience supporting Payroll Operations
Experience with support of large multi-state payroll processing preferred
Must be proficient with automated payroll software systems and timekeeping systems, experience with Workday preferred

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
General knowledge of Payroll processes and guidelines
Highly Proficient using the Microsoft Office Suite of software to include Outlook, Word and Excel
Ability to analyze and resolve problems through effective customer service interface and communication
Effective communicator with individuals at all levels within an organization
Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
Works well independently as well as with other members of the team
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a deadline-driven environment
Ability to multi-task with an emphasis on attention to detail and quality
Bilingual in English and Spanish highly desired

Essential Duties:
Administration duties with emphases in Payroll
Scanning and Distributing Incoming Department Mail
Outgoing Mail of Department Material
Assisting with Payroll Reporting and Administration tasks
Respond timely to employment verifications via mail, fax, and phone according to company policy to outside agencies
Provide excellent customer service to associates with regards to company payroll policies and employment guidelines
Provide friendly and responsive customer’s service to all associates
Complies with all Fairfield standards, applicable health and safety rules and regulations, as well as applicable local, state and federal laws
Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned
