Sr. Bank Loan Settlements Specialist

Location: Remote (PST hours)

Hours: M-F; Must be able to provide support from approx. 6am PST through end of business (approx. 6pm PST or beyond). Also, to clarify, consistent and continuous 12 hour support shift is not necessary. On call support before 8am PST and after 4pm PST suffices.

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor degree
  • 3+ years of investment management operations experience
  • Trade operations experience
  • VBA code writing
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications and SharePoint

Nice to haves:

  • BS in Finance, Economics, or Accounting
  • Technical knowledge of bank loan settlements and trade processing preferred
  • Proficiency with Visio
  • Technical knowledge of LSTA/LMA par/distressed processing and settlements
  • Hands on experience with ClearPar, CorTrade, and WSO systems

Job Description:

The Bank Loan Settlements Specialist is responsible for trade processing, settlement, and reporting of bank loan trade activity. The Senior Associate will act as a lead coordinator and handle matters of increased complexity including project work.

What type of background would you like this person to have?

  • Syndicated bank loan operations – particularly around process layout, design/redesign, and VBA coding.

What is the day to day of the person going to look like? Be specific.

  • Largely independent work following shadowing sessions with subject matter experts to understand current state of processes


  • Responsible for coordinating timely settlement of bank loan trade activity with multiple parties. Heavy external phone and email in addition to internal team floor communication. Cultivates effective working relationships with settlement parties.
  • Processes trade instruction received from Investment Manager into recordkeeping system. Resolves manual and automated processing errors as needed.
  • Maintains clear and concise status comments on unsettled trade activity. Delivers material updates to clients on regularly scheduled and ad hoc bases.
  • Serves as a lead resource on non-standard activity, new hire training, and junior staff mentoring.
  • Recommends operational process flow improvements to management.


  • BS or BA degree in Finance, Economics, or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of investment management operations experience – technical knowledge of bank loan settlements and trade processing preferred
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications – Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented critical thinker with proven record for accuracy and sound judgment
  • Strong organization, time management, and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated capability to multi-task daily workload with ad hoc projects
  • Adept at shifting priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced, high-touch, team environment
  • VBA code writing
  • Ability to work with global colleagues – internal, client, vendors
  • Proficiency with Excel, Access, and SharePoint
