Biotech company is searching for a Senior Payroll Specialist to back up the Payroll Manager in all functions related to Payroll and will assist in the processing of a multistate bi-weekly payroll and a monthly commission payroll for 1000+ employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately review all payroll changes and any special payments required with these changes
- Process terminations, determine final pay, verify and pay out PTO balances and severance payments in accordance with state specific laws and regulations
- Review, calculate and process wage garnishment and deduction orders
- Identify and deduct benefit deductions owed by employees
- Work with HR to ensure proper payments for employees on all types of company paid and state paid leave of absences
- Review and reconcile payroll prior to transmission
- Upload, review and reconcile monthly commission payrolls
- Process Payroll according to SOX requirements
- Create and/or Prepare payroll reports as requested by management
- Reconcile PTO accruals and annual rollovers
- W2 Verification Testing & 401k Compliance Testing
- Process Incentive Stock Option adjustments
- Provide Sox compliance back up as requested
Requirements
Preferred Education and Experience
- 5-10 years of payroll experience in a multistate environment
- Prior experience with new payroll system implementations
- Prior payroll experience with a public company
