Finance Manager

Hours: Mon-Fri 8 – 4 or 5pm , 7.5hrs/day; 37.5hrs/wk

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or business OR CPA certified
  • 5+ years of finance experience including FRA, auditing, internal controls and/or business process re-engineering
  • Prior finance operational experience with practical knowledge of relevant processes and international exposure
  • Operating knowledge of D365, SAP or other ERP systems

Preferred:

  • Pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Novartis experience

Job Description/Summary:

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Finance Core documentation inventory (Guidelines, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), step outs, Local Supplemental Information (LSIs), Working Instructions (WIs), both global and local)
  • Analyses Finance Core processes End to End (E2E) and perform gap analysis (step out) between AAA and GTx vs Novartis Finance Core
  • List process gaps (step out) by business, process, system, organization and missing documentation (LSIs, global and local WIs)
  • Identify new or changes to Novartis Financial Controls Manual (NFCM) controls embedded in processes and requirements for implementation
  • Identify permanent step outs with clear and proper justification
  • As part of the gap analysis find opportunities of improvements through standardization, automation and simplification
  • Liaison/coordination with Global Process Owners/Global Standard Process Leads (GPOs/GSPLs), Financial Controls & Compliance (FC&C), Information Technology (IT)
  • Identify and coordinate training requirements for new and/or adapted processes
  • Coordinate and support the creation of WIs
  • Regular project milestones reporting to Leadership Team 
  • Can prepare executive summaries to present to committee, project skills and management, working with different teams in different countries, coordinate training materials, creation of working instructions (important part), 

Qualifications/Skills:

  • 5+ years finance experience including FRA, auditing, internal controls and/or business process re-engineering
  • Prior finance operational experience with practical knowledge of relevant processes and international exposure
  • Strong project and change leadership skills
  • Operating knowledge of D365, SAP or other ERP systems preferred
  • Good communication skills, proactivity, self-initiative
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)/Chartered Accountant
