The Billing Accountant will complete the data collection process, fee calculations and invoicing of all asset-based fees, as well as, requests for data related to this client base.  This will include quarterly analysis of these fees and coordination with the financial analysts for budgeting and projecting of future revenue.  As revenue generated by asset-based fees represents a significant portion of the firm’s total revenue, this is a critical role within the Accounting and Finance Department. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Collect portfolio data needed to calculate the quarterly fees for clients in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Maintain the database used to store each client’s fee schedule and manager level detail to ensure all requests for data/analysis of fees and revenue is completed in an efficient and accurate manner.

  • Review the invoicing of asset-based fees to ensure this is completed in a timely and accurate manner.  This may involve the actual calculation of fees or review of calculations done by peers during peak billing periods.

  • Communication with clients (i.e., responding to inquiries pertaining to fees, collection calls)

  • Calculation of pro-forma fees for prospective clients.  This will involve interaction with Marketing, Client Relationship Management, Legal, and Consulting departments.

  • Ad-hoc requests for data related to clients, contracts, fees, and services

  • Historical analysis of asset-based fees and revenue

  • Projecting of asset-based fees and revenue

  • Work with Information Technology department to maintain and make enhancements to the database and internal interfaces.

  • Work with audit team during interim and year-end audits of the financial statements 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor degree in accounting, finance, or business administration 2+ years of experience in a related field

  • Proficient with MS Office products

  • Must possess strong math and analytical skills

  • A team-oriented individual with strong organizational and communication skills

  • Must work well in a fast-paced environment and assist the department in prioritizing multiple deadlines and initiatives
