Operations Specialist (Fund Transfer Investigations)
6-month contract

Location: Jersey City, NJ (remote until office opens)

Hours: M-F; 8hrs/day – 40hrs/wk
Industry: Financial Services/Banking

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Some experience in financial services

Preferred:

  • 12 to 18 months of industry experience

 

Job Description/Summary:

Responsibilities:

  • resolving investigations caused by breaks identified by the R&A Group and funds received that could not be applied to a client account the day before
  • facilitate returning funds as requested by clients and recalling funds when payments are made in error
  • research and respond to internal and external inquiries using all available resources
  • Primarily the focus of the role with be in the area of unapplied funds paid to the client. This position will be graded upon their ability to resolve open items timely and apply or return funds accurately

Break Resolution:

  • The specialist needs to thoroughly investigate the break and ensure the appropriate corrective transactions are executed if necessary
  • S/he should use all available resources such as Keystone, TLM, Merva or BIDS to find the solution
  • When necessary, the specialist should involve and interact with other BBH departments to resolve the item
  • As cases may remain open over several days, it is necessary to be detail oriented and follow up on open inquiries in a timely manner. This follow up consists of providing the client status updates as well as ensuring the BBH’s correspondents are providing any necessary information to resolve the item in a timely manner

Process Improvement:

  • While searching for resolution on the particular case, the specialist should question current processes, procedures and practices and work with Supervisor to bring about necessary changes and improvements in order to prevent the inquiry from happening again
  • As FT management reviews all errors to identify areas of improvement, the specialist will be required to Identify cases related to errors and help document them
  • The specialist will need to be detail oriented and organized. At times, cases are handed off to another specialist and it is important for them to understand clearly and easily what has been done to date to identify a resolution.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience
  • 12 to 18 months of industry experience
  • Knowledge of one or more product areas within Operations and its process
  • Research, analysis and problem resolution skills
  • Ability to communicate professionally with all levels through effective verbal and written skills
  • Organizational skills and detail-oriented
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Proactive self starter who is detail and goal oriented
