Accounts Payable Accountant
3-month contract, extension possible
Location: Baltimore, MD (hybrid – 3 days onsite)

Hours: M-F 8am-5pm

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in accounting


  •  Experience in public accounting (Audits, consulting etc.) is a strong plus
  • CPA, CMA, CFA is strongly preferred

At this facility we are looking for the Senior Accountant who possess solid communication, technology, organizational and analytical skills. The Senior Accountant will be primarily responsible for accounts payable, researching invoices, reaching out to the buyers, vendors, PO approver and directing them to take appropriate actions before invoices can be approved for payments. The Senior Accountant may be provided some additional responsibilities time to time depending upon the reporting managers requirements.

The Role:

  • Performing research for invoices
  • Identifying issues with invoices, purchase orders, receipts and directing the concerned parties to correct such errors
  • Performing data analysis for such invoices and providing reports and action items for reporting mangers
  • Assisting with other matters including audit preparations.
  • Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
  • Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
  • Performing other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned.
  • The role will be required to work at least 3 days onsite in Baltimore, MD

The Candidate

  • Strong work ethics and passion to learn new skills
  • 3+ years experience
  • Experience in public accounting (Audits, consulting etc.) is a strong plus
  • Bachelors in accounting or Finance
  • CPA, CMA, CFA is strongly preferred
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with firm deadlines
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong communication (verbal and writing) skills and be able to communicate with leadership in effective manner
  • Strong research & analytical and Excel skills
