Job Summary:

The Sr. Human Resources Analyst (Total Rewards) leads the design, analysis and administration of employer compensation and benefits programs. Contributes to maintaining competitive and equitable total rewards practices. Provides expertise in compensation administration and partners with an outsourced vendor to administer benefits. Acts as the functional expert for the HRIS, including reporting, dashboarding, and systems testing. Compensation:

  • Conducts studies of trends and complex analysis related to executive, exempt and non-exempt compensation to ensure alignment with total rewards philosophy and business objectives; designs, maintains and proposes changes to compensation plans
  • Conducts research and performs analysis related to variable and incentive compensation plans, including award calculations, preparation of quarterly and annual statements, annual compensation manuals for executives and board of directors, and plan payout projection calculations
  • Conducts, responds to, or participates in compensation surveys; maintains a comprehensive database of benchmarks and market pricing
  • Administers the job evaluation program, including the job evaluation process and pricing, job grades, and salary ranges; conducts job analysis and maintains standardized job descriptions for the enterprise
  • Provides interpretation of and ensures compliance with legal requirements concerning employee pay, including FLSA and Wage & Hour regulations; maintains and applies current knowledge of applicable local, state and federal compensation laws and regulations
  • Assists in the review and submittal of compensation data for the annual proxy statement
  • Understands and adheres to best practices, processes and procedures for the administration of compensation programs; recommends new, or revisions to current, practices and procedures


  • Partners with an outsourced vendor to administer benefits programs
  • Performs benefits administration tasks not covered by the vendor, such as: calculating Medicare eligibility, plan design, rate negotiation, and plan fiduciary responsibility (under the guidance or in partnership with HR leadership)
  • Prepares statistical analysis of costs and trends, and makes recommendations regarding changes to plan provisions
  • Educates and communicates effectively with various stakeholder groups about current and proposed benefits, compensation and incentive programs, processes and events; includes preparing written communications, spreadsheets, dashboards, and PowerPoint presentations and presenting them
  • Resolves employee benefits concerns and disputes, serving as a liaison between the employee or dependent and the plan administrator or insurer (when necessary)
  • Reconciles provider billings and prepares documents for payment of invoices/premiums
  • Maintains compliance by creating reports and preparing responses to data requests from regulatory commissions and external parties (e.g., Form 5500, non-discrimination testing, Section 125, HIPPA, SOC1, Medicare Part D)
  • Acts as the Payroll interface with the external vendor and calculates chargebacks


  • Prepares dashboards and reporting for leadership decision-making
  • Acts as the interface/SME for the HRIS
  • Performs systems testing for enhancements on a quarterly basis
  • Performs HR data maintenance audits to ensure data integrity
  • Performs other duties as requested or assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experiences (Minimum Requirements)

The knowledge, skills, abilities and education required for entry into this job include the following:

  • Five or more years of experience in Compensation administration required.
  • Two or more years of experience with Benefits administration and/or HRIS preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience developing and managing spreadsheets, reports, and dashboards
  • Expert Excel skills
  • Intermediate Word, PowerPoint and Outlook skills
  • Experience and comfort level working with HR information systems (HRIS)

Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources or Business Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation preferred
