Relying on limited experience and knowledge, the Customer Service Representative is responsible for accomplishing the following assignments.

-Receive incoming calls and emails.  Resolve inquires for provider referrals, claim filing, claim status information, verification of benefits/eligibility, and pre-notification.
-Direct customer calls for product questions, product recommendations, and quote requests to the correct department as appropriate.
-Fulfill requests for claim forms and applications for clients.
-Execute caller service requests for duplicate policy materials and forward the written request for processing and fulfillment to the appropriate department.
-Resolve product or service problems by identifying the area of concern and expediting correction or adjustment.  Follow-up to ensure resolution when needed.
-Communicate diplomatically, tactfully and with patience to escalated callers.

Qualities & Skills:

-Ability to be empathetic towards people speaking with and their situations.
-Outstanding customer service skills.
-Strong and proper phone etiquette – this position communicates with people who need assistance during difficult situations and maintaining a calm and professional tone is very important.
-Strong multi-tasking skills, meaning listening & comprehending what is being said and relaying that information accurately without delaying the process.
-Computer knowledge beneficial.
