This position is responsible for ensuring that cash amounts in our organization’s accounting ledgers reconcile with actual bank balance. The Accounting Clerk tracks and confirms every item in the bank statements; extensive efforts are made to search for items that do not reconcile with the bank statements with the aim of reconciling all accurately.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare 80+ monthly bank reconciliation reports through MRI, Yardi & Excel
- Maintain and balance cash accounts by reconciling entries
- Manage journal entry postings
- Research and review unreconciled payments and deposits
- Process and reconcile transactions of complex nature
- Maintain files, reports & data per company’s policy
- Compile monthly management statements
- Complete deposits for non-tenant related activity
- Research and reply to questions/requests from other departments and outside parties.
Qualifications:
- Previous bank reconciliation experience required
- Knowledge of Yardi and MRI strongly preferred
- Knowledgeable of the real estate industry preferred
- 4 years of experience in administrative and clerical work strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and analyzing Information
