A Financial Services company in Boston, MA seeks a permanent Senior Human Resources (HR) Operations Manager to join their growing team.

Must Haves:

  • Bachelors’ Degree
  • 12-15 years of HR experience in roles with increasing responsibility
  • Solid working knowledge of benefits, HR regulatory and policy administration, and HRIS


  • SHRM, CEBS, GBP certification preferred
  • Global experience
  • Oracle experience
  • Financial Services, Venture Capital, Management Consulting or similar industry experience

Job Summary/Description:

Reporting to the VP of HR, we are seeking a strategic partner to help us as we continually strive to provide the best possible professional experience for our employees, so that we can continue to recruit and maintain world-class talent. This person will be critical with helping to create an exceptional professional life for employees. The position requires strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with employees at all levels, professionalism, and leadership ability to manage challenges and supervise staff and should have a highly developed attention to detail to ensure tasks are completed thoroughly and accurately. This person will have direct reports, including HR Coordinator-level staff and the Operations Manager, who has office management responsibilities and requires limited daily oversight.


Human Resources Administration

  • Ownership of all HR Policies and Administration across North America, Latin America, and China
  • Ownership of the administration of company benefit programs for North American offices, including health and dental
  • plans, group life insurance, disability insurance, and its retirement plan
  • Manage and sit on the 401(k) Investment Committee
  • Manage leaves of absences, immigration, and employee relocations
  • Develop close working relationships with outside vendors, particularly all benefits vendors
  • Own HR regulatory compliance and administration, including staying up-to-date on new policy in our regions (with support of outside legal counsel in each locale)
  • Work with local legal counsel to update employee handbooks annually for North America, Latin America, and China
  • Responsible for keeping the HR Knowledge Center on the Pulse (Company’s intranet site) updated and being a consistent advocate for its use
  • Assists other HR professionals and hiring managers to manage headcount planning, assess candidates, and provide value-add input into hiring decisions and ensuring a positive employee experience
  • Organize learning and development opportunities, along with other senior HR team members
  • Own charitable match program management, Company’s Give & Grow program with our UK colleagues
  • Assist VP of HR with reporting and other special projects

Onboarding and Offboarding

  • Oversee all things related to onboarding and offboarding in North America and develop a similar program with Managers / Country Heads in Latin America and China
  • Ensure an exceptional experience for new hires, including consistent outreach during pre-onboarding
  • Develop and manage steps needed to get a new employee successfully deployed and productive – working with other HR team members to implement specific training initiatives for new joiners.
  • Assist others in HR to determine needs, select external vendors and oversee course set-up and logistics
  • Develop and manage process for those leaving company, helping to ease the departing employee’s transition out, and help to ensure that former employee remain advocates for company
  • Manage onboarding 30, 60 and 90 days surveys and exit surveys to gain insight into company's processes and course correct as needed; sharing information with other departments as needed
  • Goals management for all employees: manage annual individual goals through goals dashboard reporting and managing new employee goal setting as part of the onboarding process

HR Systems

  • Ownership of all HR Systems, including Oracle Fusion (HRIS), Saba (performance management), Clickboarding (onboarding)
  • Ability to assess and recommend future systems
  • Own implementation of future ERP HRIS system [24 months down the line potentially]

Office Management/Oversight

  • Oversee work of Operations Manager, whose duties include: office services for Boston office, management of Boston Office Services staff, oversight of NYC and Palo Alto office management, supervision of administrative staff in Boston and NYC, including recruiting and support assignments, manages facilities in Boston and NYC, including construction projects and seating plans, vendor management for supplies, food, travel and transportation. The Operations Manager is a tenured, senior professional who requires limited oversight. While this reports into the Senior HR Operations Manager, it is expected that the oversight required is limited.
