Client Job Title: Workday Senior Payroll Administrator

Contract to Hire

Job Location: Remote for Now   – Los Angeles, CA 

Looking to re-enter the office later in 2022 (most likely hybrid: in a couple times a week)

Hours: 9:00am – 5:30pm (7 and a half workdays) – not sure yet but will most likely be exempt role

Team Size: They will be sole person on team with current Payroll person being the back up person. Will have 800-900 employees to do payroll for as the job is nationwide for all of their offices.

Interview Process: 2-3 rounds max all over ZOOM

1st round with Director of Business Professional Recruiting and Employee Experience

2n round with Assistant Controller and Controller (will try to get both on the second round)

Must Haves:

Technical Skills, great listening skills and great communication skills – willing to learn!

  • 1+ year hands-on Workday Payroll experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years of payroll experience, most recently in a Senior Analyst, or similar level role, preferably with a large consulting firm
  • multistate experience for their nationwide offices
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 6 years) work experience. (If Associate Degree, must have minimum12 years of work experience) – willing to waive if they have the right experience 

Preferred:

  • Existing and up to date Workday Payroll Partner Certification
  • 1 Full lifecycle Workday Payroll Implementation
  • Consulting experience

 

Job Summary/Description:

Workday Payroll Consultant

As a Workday Payroll Consultant your primary responsibilities may include:

  • Researching and resolving day to day Workday US Payroll issues
  • Work with client to support the new requirements for Payroll in Workday
  • Creating and Updating Workday configurations based on requirement changes
  • Provide support for regular and special payroll processes in Workday
  • Provide support for post-payroll activities like posting, bank transfer and pay checks in Workday
  • Provide support for Legal and regulatory reports in Workday
  • Provide support for year-end reporting and other year-end activities in Workday
  • Analyze Workday Updates and provide recommendations to clients
  • Provide support for various Payroll interfaces in Workday, specifically ADP
  • Provide support for Time Tracking and Absence application
  • Provide support to core HCM application
  • Advise clients on industry standards and leading practices
  • Demonstrate design options through the use of prototyping
  • Provide support and guidance to the client’s parallel payroll testing
  • Act as a mentor to fellow consultants and analysts, including providing support for shadow assignments
  • Actively participate in update training and internal opportunities to share one’s skills and learnings with others within the organization
  • Provide the Project Manager with status updates and keep them apprised of overall project status.
  • Demonstrate strong client and stakeholder management to achieve project objectives
  • Support innovation through the creation of new industry leading methods and assets

Basic Qualifications:

  • Existing and up to date Workday Payroll Partner Certification
  • Must have strong knowledge of ADP
  • 2+ years of consulting experience, most recently in a Senior Analyst, Consultant, or similar level role, preferably with a large consulting firm
  • 1+ year hands-on Workday Payroll experience
