OUTSOURCED ACCOUNTING A specialized firm to provide fund, portfolio, REIT, JV and construction accounting services that property managers and traditional CPA firms are unwilling or unable to provide. FINANCIAL SYSTEMS SOLUTIONS A financial systems architect integrating with traditional accounting processes to deliver practical and sound solutions for evolving business and technology needs.

 

 

Office Culture:

Work hard/Play hard mentality – must be willing to come into the office 5 days week (usually work 40-45hrs/week or 8-9hr workdays) – small office environment – quieter office, very modern and new with great kitchen set up – stand up adjustable desks – work close/next to peers so can always ask for help

During busy season (January – April) : might have 2-3 weeks of 50 hour work weeks

Hard work will not go unnoticed – plenty of room for growth and raises/bonuses!

Interview Process:

 

2 rounds:

  1. Teams meeting with Business Development Manager and possibly Managing Director.
  2. In person – with Business Development Manager and Directors

 

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or data science required.
  • Aspiring CPA (must be working towards CPA if they don’t have it)
  •  (2) or more years of financial reporting experience required
  •  Advanced Excel skill required.
  •  Experience with Yardi (or equivalent mid- to large- tier ERP) and Microsoft BI tools (or equivalent reporting query tools) required.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities required
  • Strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines required

 

Preferred:

  • CPA
  • MBA
  • Real estate experience a plus
  •  Extensive working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) preferred.

 

Job Summary/Description:

 

Responsible for project managing client initiatives, assisting with the efficiencies of in-house accounting teams, periodic updates of internal and external models and ad hoc analysis. Coordinate and communicate routine and nonroutine deliverables to various clients and internal department leads.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE –

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or data science required.

• CPA required.

• MBA a plus.

• Four (4) to Six (6) years’ experience with two (2) or more years of financial reporting experience required.

• Advanced Excel skill required.

• Experience with Yardi (or equivalent mid- to large- tier ERP) and Microsoft BI tools (or equivalent reporting query tools) required.

• Extensive working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) preferred. • Real estate experience a plus.

• Strong critical thinking and problem solving abilities required.

• Strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines required.

 

 PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES –

General Duties

• While working with directors, act as a change agent in developing automated financial reporting packages utilizing business intelligent tools to enhance job efficiencies.

• Develop sustainable business solution for updating and maintaining database attributes, statistics and other segmented data fields.

• Assist in client ERP implementations and other external project initiatives.

• Ability to understand relatively complex real estate accounting structures (e.g., L.P., LLC, REIT, consolidations, eliminations, equity accounting, inter- and intra-company transactions, etc.) while translating issues to business intelligence tools, ad-hoc modeling and system generated reports.

• Support company-wide monthly internal and external monthly close reporting processes.

• Develop, create and implement dashboard presentations utilizing business intelligence tools.

• Independently complete additional ad-hoc reporting and responsibilities as assigned.

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common information & technology terms, financial reports, and legal documents.

• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

• Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

 

MATH SKILLS & FINANCIAL SKILLS –

• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, complex formulas.

• Ability to understand and complete comprehensive discounted cash-flow analysis.

• Familiarity with financial terms and concepts dealing with debt and equity financing.

 

REASONING ABILITY –

• Ability to collect and analyze data mined using analytical query tools.

• Ability to define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in info system diagrams, mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
