Client Job Title: Accounts Payable Manager

Contract to Hire

 

Job Location: Onsite (823 Gateway Center Way San Diego 92102 United States)

Must be VAXXED!

 

Hours: 8-5

Team Size: 4 max (for now will have just 2 direct reports)

 

Interview Process:

First round will be a phone screen with the recruiter.

Second round will be a ZOOM interview with the Senior Director of Finance and possibly team members

 

Must Haves:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree (general degree is a MUST)
  • AP experience – minimum of 5 years
  • Ability to work well in both a team-based environment and in an independent manner
  • COVID Vaccine

 

Preferred:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree IN Accounting or Finance (highly preferred)
  • Supervisory experience highly preferred but not required

 

Job Summary/Description:

 

Family Health Centers of San Diego is looking for an Accounts Payable Manager to manage the Accounts Payable Department by providing operational management to include oversight of daily operations and supervision of staff. Ensure department tasks are accurately completed on a timely basis.

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Manage and develop staff through building positive relationships.

• Inspire others to perform at a high level, prepare career development plans and retain an accountable workforce.

• Manage assigned team to include hiring, providing performance management, training, scheduling, and corrective discipline (including termination) as needed.

• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

• Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency in job assignments and procedures are completed. • Create and maintain policies and procedures for the department.

• Manage audits of accounts payable batches, workload, and quality levels by establishing key performance indicators.

• Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard the organization’s assets.

• Ensure systems, policies, and procedures adhere to company policies while functioning with accuracy and timeliness.

• Ensure department operates efficiently through maintenance of accurate and complete records.

• Oversee preparation and management of the 1099 process.

• Manage and coordinate audit requests received from internal sources, external auditors, and other third parties.

• Manage and conduct month-end responsibilities to include creating all accounts payable accruals.

• Manage and own relationships with vendors and serve as the central escalation point for any vendor issues to ensure prompt handling of internal and/or external inquiries in a timely manner by providing status updates to relevant stakeholders.

• Manage, build, and maintain positive relationships within the department, with other internal departments, and with external vendors.

• Participate in continuous improvement activities and ensure appropriate Lean tools (i.e., 5S, A3) are deployed and results are evaluated and/or measured.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.

• Or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the skills, knowledge, and ability to perform the essential job duties as required.

• 5 – 7 years of experience working in accounting or finance required.

• 2 years of supervisory experience are required.

• Ability to work well in both a team-based environment and in an independent manner.
