Client Job Title: Payroll Supervisor

Direct Hire

Job Location: Onsite  (823 Gateway Center Way San Diego 92102 United States)

 

Hours: 8:00am -5:00pm

Team Size: Two but possibly more (direct reports)

Report to: Payroll Manager

Interview Process: First interview with hiring manager. Most likely a second interview with CFO and other team members

Top 3 Responsibilities: Bi-weekly payroll for large volume employees, supervision of other payroll employees, and maintaining accuracy

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, finance, accounting, business administration, medical coding, or related field required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in payroll is required
  • We’re looking for someone who is ready for the supervisory role
  • Worked with Kronos and ADP before.
  • Especially if they have experience with high volume payroll
  • General Ledger experience (3 years would be ideal but at least 1 year is fine if they have the other requirements)

 

Preferred:
 

  • A CPP would be ideal but not required
  • Supervisory experience is preferred but not necessarily require
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred

 

 

Job Summary:

 

Family Health Centers of San Diego is looking for a Payroll Supervisor to supervise the day-to-day payroll operations to include oversight of the analysis, reconciliation, and accuracy of assigned general ledger accounts and accounting programs. Provide supervision on both internal and external audits. Provide direction and guidance to accounting staff as they service internal and external customers.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Build positive relationships, inspires others to perform at a higher level, prepare career development plans, and retains an accountable workforce.
  • Coach and counsel staff and administer appropriate disciplinary action in a timely manner.
  • Provide and ensure staff receive all new hires and annual training on time.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in the development and implementation of policies and procedures relating to financial management, budget, and accounting.
  • Supervise the collection of information provided for audit inquiries.
  • Schedule and plan internal and external audits. Provide assistance to auditors through coordinating and gathering information for audit inquiries.
  • Provide assistance to auditors as required.
  • Supervise and ensure accuracy of the posting and maintenance of general ledger accounts, payroll transactions, accounts payable, grant programs, and general ledger adjustments.
  • Prepare, distribute, and maintain a variety of periodic and ad-hoc reports.
  • Gather and compile data from a variety of sources.
  • Review and analyze reports to identify errors, misstatements, or unrecorded transactions. Implement prompt and proper corrections.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, finance, accounting, business administration, medical coding, or related field required.
  • At least 2 years of lead or supervisory experience are required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in payroll is required.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the skills, knowledge, and ability to perform the essential job duties.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred.
