Client Job Title: Human Resources Generalist/Business Partner

Direct Hire (May need to travel back and forth up to 25% of the time)

 

Job Location: Onsite

Onsite – 11276 5th St #100, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730 (free parking), attire: casual – business casual (jeans are usually fine)

Hours: 7:30am – 4:30pm (generally)

Team Size: Just this one HRG for now out west (eventually will have an HR Director too) – will report to Director of HR in Missouri (HQ) for now

  • exp. in high volume/larger company (they will have to deal with around 2,000 employees – majority union so may be less)

The Human Resources Professional is a critical role, directly responsible for administration, coordination, and evaluation of general human resources functions in the western region of the United States. SCOPE: Applicable Western Region Divisions include, but are not limited to: California, Oregon, Montana, Nevada, Arizona and Colorado

 

JOB FUNCTIONS

• Employee Development and Performance Management: Partner with leadership team to create and foster a healthy, performance-oriented culture. Resolve complex human resources concerns and provide guidance on the entire employee life cycle, including terminations. Oversee termination processes, as needed.

• New Employee Onboarding: Process new hires into our system, verify employment eligibility and ensure all new hires receive and return appropriate documentation. Facilitate roll-out for Western divisions of electronic onboarding software and act as administrator for the platform.

• Recruitment: Find, screen, and encourage qualified candidates to get excited about working for our company. Facilitate a robust and thorough interviewing process.

· Employee Management: Administer leaves for FMLA/CFRA/EDD/COVID-19 compliance (medical/maternity/personal/Workers’ Comp/etc.). Coordinate all communication with employees and payroll regarding required forms, tracking and benefit coordination.

· Unemployment claims administration – respond to state inquiries, collect supporting documentation and participate in protest hearings as required.

· Legal – Partner with Corporate Legal and HR to proactively ensure we deploy compliant processes. Consult on employee matters as needed.

· Benefit Administration: Monthly billing & reconciliation, including research of variances and corrections needed to payroll and Quanta benefits team, including one-time overrides in the payroll system. Benefit communication to newly eligible employees, answer benefit questions/concerns, setup/review benefit deductions for new-hires and transfers.

· 401(k) Administration: Reconcile weekly & semi-monthly payroll remittances. Research variances and work with JDE and/or Quanta Retirement team. Approval of wire transfers. Review monthly loan reports. Update/change deferral and/or loan payments. Review and update indicative data feed errors. Manage inter-company transfers as it relates to 401(k) YTD data.

· Special Projects as assigned EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Required Education and Experience:

• BA/BS degree in business, human resources or a related field. Or applicable professional experience in lieu i.e. 3-5 years.

• At least 3 years of progressive human resources generalist experience. Training, employee relations,

• Propensity for and demonstrated ability to prioritize and deliver results.

• Experience with Leave and Leave Administration by Federal and State requirements.

• Experience in front line Benefits inquiries, setup, updates and billing reconciliation.

• Demonstrated working knowledge of 401(k) Administration and reconciliation

• Working knowledge in all areas pertinent to the management of all HR functions specific to western region states listed above, including compensation, staffing, employee relations, EEO/AAP safety training and policy development.

• Legal compliance, performance management and recruitment background preferred.

• Current knowledge of all federal, state, and local regulations as it pertains to HR

• Must have proven, effective counseling skills in areas of performance and behavioral problems, conflict resolution and career development.

• JD Edwards experience preferred
