The Sr. Accountant is responsible for supporting the Controller in the preparation of the company’s financial reports, completion and distribution of project draw requests and processing of financial transactions of the company.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the processing of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, draw requests and general & entity accounting
  • Preparation of monthly draw requests for large construction projects
  • Communicate with the general contractor and subcontractors concerning the processing of invoices, notification of payments and waiver requirements
  • Coordinate document submission and payment release/reconciliation with Title Companies upon draw fundings
  • Process monthly Development Project invoices and prepare journal entries in GL and reporting systems of the financial partners of the Company
  • Monthly general ledger activity uploads in Yardi
  • Prepare monthly property level workpapers and reconciliations
  • Assist in the preparation of timely monthly and annual financial reports for the company’s Executives, Investors and outside Financial Institutions
  • Assist in the analysis of the Company‘s actual financial results and analyze variances to budget
  • Responsible for the accuracy of the General Ledger, reconciliations of Bank statements and other accounts
  • Assist with the preparation of consolidated financial statements, quarterly reports, and annual valuations for investment funds
  • Assist in the preparation of special reports and analysis as requested

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from a four-year accredited college or university
  • At least 2 years of accounting experience
  • Experienced in Real Estate Development Accounting
  • Proficient in Excel, Outlook, Yardi, Adobe Acrobat Pro PDF, and other software
  • Proficiency in eBuilder and JDE a plus
  • CPA license is preferred, but not required

  • GAAP and financial reporting technical skills
