The Human Resources Manager, will be an active manager and collaborator to the work of the Human Resources team by providing Healthcare Human Resource management expertise in recruiting, workforce development and training to new and existing employees. The Human Resources Manager will work closely with the CEO & President on advancing the company’s priorities around performance management, implement new initiatives, develop and oversee Human Resource Department training, healthcare compliance accreditation, recruitment and employee relations and engagement. The Human Resources Manager will be proactive in cultivating strong relationships at various levels of the organization and must be able to think critically and communicate effectively.

Business Development 

  • Coordinates with the Finance Department to implement and identify hiring initiatives based on key performance indicators, new business contracts to scale the companies.

  • Maintains regular contact and develops relationships with stakeholders, Workforce Development Offices, Masshire Offices, colleges and Universities, professional healthcare boards, and other sources to identify current staffing needs and requirements, projected openings, and potential new business opportunities. 

  • Identify stakeholders for new initiatives and new recruiting strategies for job openings in order to establish a robust network of candidates.

  • Builds and cultivates relationships with stakeholders to gain and develop business leads to increase marketing and recruiting strategy for the company.

  • Develops team and oversees Business Workforce Recruiter, Human Resources Assistant 

Training & Development

  • Establishes in-house employee training program that addresses company training needs including training needs assessment for varying levels of individuals within departments, new employee on-boarding or orientation, management development, cross-training and succession planning

  • Works closely with department managers and supervisors to continuously to develop their team members and assess training and organizational development needs that improve job skills and prepare for positions requiring greater skills

  • Implements various learning methods companywide (online Learning in service trainings and set up accreditation training plans to strengthen employees’ existing skills and builds stakeholders within the professional healthcare, human service and educational field

  • Manages the development, design and implementation of training plans and programs for leadership and middle management team members to ensure continued growth

  • Implements and maintain an effective succession plan, including management development and employee career path programs appropriate for supporting and sustaining the company’s growth

Employee Relations

  • Coaches and trains managers in their communication, feedback, recognition, and interaction responsibilities with the employees who report to them

  • Conducts investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth

  • Utilizes company policies to coach and advise employees on problem resolution; help them identify solutions and encourage them to constructively resolve conflicts

  • Monitors and advises managers and supervisors in the progressive discipline system of the company. Monitors the implementation of a performance improvement process with non-performing employees

Compensation and Rewards

  • Implements and develop digital web-based systems for payroll that connects to all aspects of Human Resource 

  • Aligns performance management systems with compensation structure (particularly bonuses)

  • Develops, manages and administers the Performance Management process to ensure that employees receive informal and formal performance feedback and corrective actions are implemented as necessary

  • Partners with the CEO & President and Finance Department to support compensation, benefits and recognition programs that will drive a performance culture within the organization

Employee Engagement & Experience

  • Carries out the HR initiatives aimed at supporting the performance, development, reward, engagement and retention of employees

  • Identifies employee profile of success connected to key performance indicators for department, program   and monitors the organization's culture so that it supports the attainment of the company's goals and promotes employee satisfaction.

  • Manages employee communication and feedback through such avenues as company meetings, suggestion programs, employee satisfaction surveys, newsletters, employee focus groups, one-on-one meetings, and Intranet use

  • Develops and conducts periodic engagement/ culture and assessment surveys to measure employee satisfaction and employee engagement

  • Enhances engagement strategy by creating innovative and exciting new hire on-boarding programs that increase engagement

  • Oversees and manages a performance appraisal system that drives high performance

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and or 5+  years of experience in employment law, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, and training and development

  • Proven ability to implement effective learning and development methods and manage trainings from beginning to end including; assessment, design, development, implement and delivery, coordination, and evaluation

  • Proven experience in labor relations and ability to influence, coach and counsel both employees and management

  • Knowledge of various employment laws and practices

  • Project and process management skills with a demonstrated track record of delivering results

  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to facilitate learning and problem solving

  • Adaptability to work successfully in a changing fast-paced environment

  • PHR certification preferred but not required
