The Sr. Financial Analyst will provide the financial planning and analysis function to the accounting & finance department.  This key role will establish comparative financial models, budgets and will manage major components of the financial function of the business.  Variance reviews, Account Reconciliations, Comparatives, Understanding costing structures for Inventory control and developing the story behind the analyses will be critical in the successful execution of this position.  

Analyses will be performed on all aspects of the financial statements as well as data feeds into the NAV system.  This is to ensure US GAAP compliance of our financial statements.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the completion of monthly and comparative, consolidated quarterly financial statements and reporting, assist in developing and improving reporting and communication to senior team and operations

  • Assist in analyzing working capital and the management of cash flow

  • Providing support and analysis for key Balance Sheet Control Accounts

  • Maintain a strong financial analysis foundation with the creation of various comparative models 

  • Develop models to monitor financial performance along with developing comparatives to previous periods and monitor improvement goals

  • Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting

  • Maintain a strong financial analysis foundation with the creation of models and forecasts 

  • Full support for key Balance Sheet accounts and P&L analyses 

  • Ensure that financial processes / presentation of financials are GAAP compliant; monitor any developments that could impact financial results and disclosure requirements

  • Learn and expand abilities of ERP application; assist in bringing and upgrading technological applications in department i.e. MS teams, one drive, dashboards etc.

  • Develop meaningful KPI’s that drive the business with comparatives to previous periods performance and budgets

  • Bring in tools that assist in ease of translation of the data  and interpret operational data 

  • Create financial models for decision support

  • Identify trends to ensure completeness in the preparation of the financial statements

  • Assemble and summarize data structured reports on financial status and risks

  • Understand variances against forecasts/budgets and develop a succinct story

  • Ad hoc reporting and projects to support from various areas of the business

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Hands on experience with statistical analysis and statistical packages

  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Inquisitive personality

  • Able to streamline and develop scalable and intuitive financial reports

  • Able to develop high level financial narrative

  • Strong data-mining analytical skills (comfortable with databases)

  • Experience in working with a cross-functional team 

  • Adherence to multiple deadlines

  • Has a can do mentality. Ability to cope with tight deadlines and a high change environment.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor degree or higher in Accounting or Finance or related field

  • 4 + years of related experience

  • CPA or CMA a plus 

  • Proficient in the MS Office Suite of products

  • A full understanding of ERP systems a must;  Microsoft Dynamics NAV preferred or other Microsoft ERP experience a plus.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and able to respond to quick turn-around deadlines
