HR Manager

Responsibilities:

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Guide improvements in Human Resource and Payroll areas by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures, best practices, compliance, etc.

  • Maintains, develops, implements and communicates the HR policies and procedures ensuring federal, state & industry-specific regulatory compliance to minimize organizational risk. Remains current on HR trends & legislation (e.g., OSHA, EEO, ERISA, FMLA, and FLSA, etc.)

  • On-boarding new hires, off-boarding terminations, update changes: obtain and review necessary paperwork, process into the payroll system and internal filing systems.

  • Primary contact and resource for any employees as needed regarding hiring, benefits, employee handbook, HR related processes, etc.

  • Resource for Performance Improvement Plans as needed.  Collaborate with directors, managers on the need, method and delivery of such PIPs to employees as needed.

  • Employee Handbook – resource for any questions, clarifications, addition or deletions necessary with the changing governing laws.

  • Benefits – manage annual enrollment process from initial insurance rate reviews through the employee sign up process and subsequent questions, requests. Review monthly insurance invoices for accuracy with current staffing, reconciling billing with timing of new hires and terminations.

  • Unemployment insurance – manage ensuring accurate compliance with all states – current states employees reside in, applying to new states as necessary, also review federal guidelines and changes as applicable.

  • Workers' Compensation – manage compliance with state specific data for all employees, contact person for any potential claims and other questions.

  • Harassment training – initiate and track annual training of all staff.

  • Legal issues: managing or assisting VP of Operations with data gathering or other case specific aspects.

  • Monitors employee morale, keeping management informed of opportunities for positive recognition as well as key issues.

 

Qualifications:

Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, offer demonstrated sound judgment, reasoning and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development or related field.
5+ years’ experience in the field with an emphasis on direct Human Resources department management.
