Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Associate Director for Human Resources for HRIS Process Improvement (Assoc. Dir.) is part of a team that is committed to the delivery of HR services that meet the highest level of professional standards. The Assoc. Dir. is responsible for HRIS systems review, process development and improvement, workflow design, and implementation. A key priority is to identify process improvements that take advantage of underutilized capabilities that exist within our existing Peoplesoft platform, in order to effectively integrate solutions that improve efficiencies.The Assoc. Dir. must be a subject matter expert in HRIS features, capabilities, and automation and integration of the HRIS with other supporting systems.  Must also be able to effectively implement solutions that incorporate the mission critical needs of ITS, HR, and Finance stakeholders (focusing on value-added effectiveness and efficiency).

  • Assess and recommend HRIS process improvements, by leveraging available system tools and capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot production issues by proactively identifying and implementing solutions that resolve the problems.
  • Exhibit productive and collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders in ITS and Finance; effectively incorporate their input and then communicate back HRIS progress and results. 
  • Inventory and catalogue existing systems and modules in the HRIS environment and surrounding systems, and make suggestions on use and efficiency improvements.
  • Audit and review the HRIS lifecycle, from position justification, creation, hiring, onboarding, transfers, moves, and separations.
  • Identity and prioritize opportunities for automation and integration, with a goal of ensuring data integrity.
  • Work with the data team in ITS to create data dictionaries and standards for reporting.
  • Find process deficiencies, or areas of obsolescence and build a roadmap to addressing those challenges.
  • Identify opportunities for tool and data consolidation.
  • Keep informed on the latest trends, practices, and solutions for HRIS, and help stay current in these domains.
  • Direct two HRIS staff members on tasks and priorities; hold them accountable to complete their work in an timely, accurate, and user-friendly manner.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, HRIS, computer science or related field is required.

• 5 years progressively responsible experience in human resources related field, including at least 2 years of experience managing complex HRIS systems

• Experience with PeopleSoft, including hiring, performance and position management, Kronos, and a document management system

• Demonstrated ability to utilize SQL and PeopleSoft query for data verification and the creation of complex reports. Must also have proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Application. Experience in Higher Education is desirable. Open-source software applications knowledge is a plus. Knowledge and experience with PC Windows and Mac environments

• Broad knowledge base in best practices in human resources concerning record keeping, hiring, onboarding, leave management, benefits, and terminations etc.
