- The role is part of company's Alternative Investment Tax management function and has responsibility for managing the day to day and providing our clients accurate and timely reporting on tax transactions and structuring. A core component of the responsibility is to translate a tax technical review and analysis of underlying data to provide clients with income tax figures. The position is highly client facing and is responsible for direct client communication regarding technical tax discussions surrounding Private Equity Funds/Hedge Funds and other US reporting. The position requires communication with internal colleagues to gain an understanding of transactions to translate these transactions to tax figures. The position will manage tax senior and specialists in the team to ensure client deliverables are accurate and timely. Training of technical topics to senior and staff specialists is a major component of day to day activities.
- Responsibilities : Prepare reporting of client deliverables to ensure deadlines are met. Assign and monitor departmental progress on client deliverables and review the income tax provision. Provide tax technical expertise to underlying transactions. Review security analysis from a tax perspective Coordinate approaches with the Financial Reporting and Fund Accounting Teams. Work with clients and accounting firms to provide clarity on technical transactions. Review the income tax allocations to each partner and analyze special allocated items. Review application of management and incentive fees Consult and train others on funds structure to properly assess investors requirements. Review staff prepared footnotes including UBTI, ECI, State Sourcing and Reportable Transactions. Review Tax Estimates required for the Funds. Work with the client to assist with investor question. Be competent to analyze the structure and plan for investors.
- Requirements : BS/BA degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 3+ years of Partnership tax experience. Proven ability to work with people and facilitate the smooth workflow between Investment Tax and other internal and external stakeholders. Strong client service skills. Strong supervisory skills with the ability to prioritize. Understanding of partnership tax related tax code sections, forms and elections, and tax adjustments of securities. Ability to conceptualize and execute projects and initiatives through to completion.
