Direct Hire

Job Location: Remote for now. Onsite post 9/1

Back Bay 

Hours: 40 hours/week

Job Summary/Description:

  • Process North American payrolls including pay, employee status changes, benefit deductions, levy/ garnishments, taxable fringe benefits, vacation balance tracking, etc
  • Ensure all payroll considerations are addressed including pay rates, deductions, taxes, time information, etc. and that are processed timely and accurately
  • Maintain the flow of documentation for payroll updates/changes and audit employee file for changes
  • Ensure that payroll-related transactions are processed in compliance with company specific policies, procedures, and government agency regulations
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay calculations, taxes, deductions and benefits. Serve as a go-to service representative for many payroll related matters within the organization
  • Collaborate with HR to improve the quality of the data flow to Payroll
  • Perform accounting functions as needed such as preparing journal entries and research to assist with reconciliations
  • Assist the Senior Manager with the development and implementation of payroll practices, procedures and policies, day-to-day planning of workloads, and the review/scheduling of special runs such as Partner and quarterly bonus payments, promotions, and year-end tasks
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned or as responsibilities dictate


  • Bachelor’s degree in a business related field required; preferably in accounting/finance
  • 2-3 years of payroll experience required
  • Proven ability to calculate payroll with accuracy, meeting all related deadlines
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, utilized to effectively communicate with all levels of management
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in use of Excel, Workday, ADP, and MasterTax are a plus, however not all are required. Experience in similar systems is preferred if no experience in Workday
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information in a professional manner
  • Ability to work independently and self-start
  • Willingness to expand range of responsibilities as needed based on the evolution of the Company and the role
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities
