Job Summary/Description:

The managers are looking for candidates with an accounting background, strong analytical skills and attention to detail, as well as an ability to operate in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines. They are willing to teach the payroll/tax/treasury piece, though the preference is that the candidate would have experience in those areas.

Both positions are very heavy on the processing side.

For the Tax Specialist role, you will take inquires from clients/ tax authorities. Get tax documents and client requests.  10% of the day would be on phone speaking to tax authorities regarding tax documents.. Person in the role will assist clients with transition or deconversion activities.

The operations specialist role is similar. Instead of tax processing, the operations specialist will be supporting daily payroll activities.

Job Description – Employer Tax Specialist:

Fidelity TalentSource is looking to hire an Employer Tax Specialist at Fidelity Investments, located either in Merrimack, NH, or Westlake, TX.

This is a contract role that can last up to a year.

The Purpose of Your Role

The Employer Tax Specialist role is responsible for ongoing support of payroll tax administration for Fidelity’s payroll clients. The assigned responsibilities may include remitting tax filings, entering tax payments, resolving tax discrepancies and amending tax returns. The associate is responsible for accurate and timely completion of assigned tasks in order to reduce financial risk to the customer and firm.

Team functions often involve high dollar amounts that impact multiple clients or customers and have a high degree of associated risk. Therefore, the associate must ensure that established processes and timelines are being followed when completing daily functions and when providing support to business partners and customers.

  • Associates degree or higher in business, finance, or related field
  • Experience working in the payroll industry in an operational role preferred

  • Work with taxing agencies to address tax notices and effectively communicate resolution to clients
  • Complete employer level tax updates to the system in a timely and accurate manner
  • File employer tax reports to government agencies by the deadline and in accordance with documented procedures
  • Monitor agency notifications for regulatory and compliance changes impacting our business
  • Assist clients with payroll tax inquiries relating to registration and account authorization
  • Prepare and submit amended tax returns as needed

Job Description – Operations Specialist:

Fidelity TalentSource is looking to hire an Operations Specialist at Fidelity Investments, located either in Merrimack, NH, or Westlake, TX.

This is a contract role that can last up to a year.

The Purpose of Your Role

The primary purpose of this job is to monitor on-cycle and off-cycle payrolls and ensure that all pre-work (balance adjustments, stop voids etc.) are completed and the payrolls are run and balanced on a timely basis. Other objectives include transmitting bank and funding files and mitigating risk through following procedures and controls.

The Expertise We’re Looking For

  • Associates degree in business, finance, or related field
  • 4+ Experience working in the payroll industry in an operational role preferred

The Skills You Bring

  • Willing to work 8AM to 7PM four days per week.
  • Payroll experience (CPP preferred)
  • Proven skills with MS Office, Excel, Access, Word
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts, methodologies, and processes
  • Oracle Financials, HRMS and Payroll Tax knowledge (preferred)
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills required
  • Ability to understand end to end processes and their interdependencies
  • Detail oriented and ability to multitask
  • Process and results oriented
  • Be flexible with workload to accommodate internal and external client needs
  • Work independently and in a team environment

The Value You Deliver:

  • Balance payrolls timely and accurately, adhering to policies to ensure that risk is mitigated. Enter funding adjustments as needed for forfeiture, SDI and misc. adjustments.
  • Transmit bank and funding files, transmit void/reversal transactions, monitor and process return resolution transactions. Participate in special projects as needed.
  • Assist implementations and client services in interpreting client requests to determine how to execute the request in Oracle HRMS based on payroll rules. Assist Client Service Managers in researching and explaining to client’s payroll balancing and funding issues.
  • Resolve GL exceptions through research and an end to end understanding of all the payroll reports, the interfaces to our business partners and the FINOPs reports. As part of this responsibility, identify root cause of the exceptions and establish processes or articulate development opportunities to eliminate them.
  • The ECM Operations Representative receives direction from their manager, and assistance from the Sr. Operations and Payroll Representatives as needed for day to day activity. They are not responsible for making decisions in terms of setting policy or accepting risk to the business.
