The VP of Finance reports to the EVP/CFO and is responsible for providing financial support for alternative investment opportunities, including mergers, acquisitions, and investment funds. Partner with the EVP/CFO to develop, implement and ensure financial programs, processes and initiatives are integrated with, and effective in supporting the our overall mission, goals, and objectives. Proactively engage with the Senior Management team, Board, and Committee members to support our long-term planning and decision-making processes.
Partnering with the EVP/CFO, the VP brings experience as a proven leader with the ability to motivate and elevate the finance team in diverse, complex, growing environments. Beyond technical competency, he/she is an outstanding communicator and listener who has adopted automation and best practices and demonstrates proactivity, agility, the ability to navigate ambiguity and collaboratively implement new solutions.
Design, establish and maintain an organizational structure to effectively achieve goals associated with establishing an alternative investment process and committee, utilizing best practices and a blend of external and internal resources.
Utilizing best practices continually evolve and improve accounting processes, including financial statements, reporting, payables, purchasing and payroll. Continually implement outsourcing and automation opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
Identifying and tracing key performance indicators and creating analytical structures for making financial and operational decisions that will sustain and enable our financial strength.
Serve as a trusted advisor and consultant to the EVP/CFO and the entire Senior Leadership Team in financial matters relating to grants, partnerships, digital solutions, and contract negotiations.
Understand and advise the management and finance reporting implications for new and existing accounting policies related to the our portfolio, work with our financial team to incorporate changes in financial reporting, policy and practice.
Design and direct the formation, revision and administration of all Treasury functions to ensure we have adequate resources to implement strategic and operating plans and is leveraging resources in alignment with investment requirements.
Create, identify and access professional networks, consortiums, and resources to stay abreast of emerging trends, explore best practices, and capture economies of scale and purchasing power for accounting and financial related services.
Leading financial planning, strategic planning, and business analytics to safeguard departmental integration in key organizational operations.
Developing and implementing decision support tools and finance reporting that assists cross-functional business leaders in making sound financial decisions and future plans aligned with mission.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible experience in Finance, Accounting or Business, with 5-7 years of proven leadership experience and recognized for high quality and high impact results for self and others
Experience in diverse business environments such as:
Technology oriented B2C services
Experience and proven track record of completing investment analysis and due diligence for acquisitions.
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Exceptional business partnering skills, including influencing and sound analytical and reporting skills
Advanced information systems literacy (mid-level ERP’s, PowerPoint, Excel and Word
Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations
MBA or equivalent experience in management and financial services preferred.
