Company Pitch/BackStory/Color:  We are extremely complex with 20+ FEINs, 70% hourly and 30% salaried being paid biweekly. It is not an easy role and we would like someone with large company experience. We have about 2,000 employees now. Someone who has processed payroll for a small company if 1,000 is not what we are really interested in.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

Payroll (65%)

  • Lead payroll processing team, using ADPVantage for 1,800 employees (75% nonexempt weekly, 25% exempt biweekly), supervising two payroll specialists
  • Subject matter expert for all Federal, State, and local payroll regulations and reporting.
  • Focus on development and training of payroll specialists
  • Member of the HR acquisition team from due diligence through integration
  • Develop and lead training for field supervisors and managers at  40+ US sites
  • High level of collaboration with other internal departments, including Total Rewards, Tax, HRIS, Finance, and Treasury
  • Primary contact for any payroll related audits and reviews, including internal and external audits, and reviews by any Federal, State, or local government agency
  • Ensure compliance with all payroll related Federal, State, and local laws
  • Responsible for the ADPVantage payroll and e-time design as well as on-going maintenance

HR Service Center (35%)

  • Ensure consistent and excellent customer service for all employees, supervising two HR coordinators
  • Develop processes, manage and training for benefit programs
  • Lead HIPAA compliance program
  • Manage the leave of absence programs and vendor integration
  • Key contributor in the acquisition on-boarding process
  • Develop KPI's to measure of the effectiveness of HR service center and related activities.
  • High level of collaboration with other internal departments, including Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, HRIS, and HR Business Partners

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required:

  • Seven to ten years of professional experience including three years of experience leading a team
  • Five years of payroll experience with a diverse, multi-location company with various employee classifications required
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls, process and continual improvement principles
  • Creative, progressive thought leadership with the ability to influence at all levels in an organization
  • Flexibility to be proactive in a fast-paced, ever changing environment
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to prioritize competing demands
  • Outstanding communicator in both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, accounting or related field
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus
