TALENT SPECIALIST 

 

The Talent Specialist focuses on the full-life-cycle employee experience including Talent Acquisition, Employer Branding, and Learning & Development. They are a highly effective collaborator, a solution oriented problem solver who likes to solve and create, and has a fine-tuned ability to understand people and business needs. You see yourself as a Talent Consultant – always thinking of new ways to elevate talent related processes and experiences for employees, candidates and stakeholders. You’re never satisfied with the status quo and believe in the importance of continuous improvement and learning. TALENT ACQUISITION:

·         ATS – write and post compliant and engaging job ads; ensure data integrity; appropriately disposition candidates; define and document ATS workflows; run routine reports

·         Recruiting – partner with hiring managers to build deep knowledge of talent needs; build and maintain passive/ active talent pipeline; engage with, interview and communicate with candidates throughout the interview process ensuring a best-in-class experience; frequently communicate with hiring manager/ team to ensure everyone is on the same page; lead ‘feedback’ ‘kick off’ meetings; consult with hiring manager on candidates and hiring decisions; generate offer letters; reference and background checks; develop sourcing strategy especially on difficult to fill positions and proactively source for talent; work within TA budget

·         Employer branding – leverage linkedin and manage social media to build awareness around career opportunities at VHL; build branding strategy; thinking of meaningful new ways to engage with top talent across functional areas

·         Temp placements/ interns – monitor and track temp placements; update and extend as needed; ensure REQ process followed; partner with schools to build intern/ co-op programs

·         Special projects – train hiring team on interview best practices; build job posting inventory;

ENGAGEMENT:

·         Surveys – build, run and analyze a variety of employee surveys and partner with HR team to translate feedback into actionable HR initiatives; run standard employment surveys (new hire and off-boarding)

LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT:

·         Job Descriptions – manage JD inventory; update JD for compliance, relevance and accuracy; develop JD competency catalogue; write and review job descriptions

·         LMS – roll out LMS platform and develop learning paths and curriculum

·         Training – partner with team to build and lead a variety of HR/ talent focused training

 

REQUIREMENTS:

·         5+ years experience as a strategic corporate recruiter (someone who’s idea of TA is sending resumes to and fro wont be a fit)

·         Bachelors degree

·         Strong knowledge of Talent workflows as well as talent sourcing and engagement strategies; proactively builds and maintains passive talent pipelines; develops creative strategies to uncover talent; experience filling a variety of roles at a variety of levels (software experience strong plus)

·         Solid knowledge of ATS

·         Passion and experience building and presenting employee trainings, basic knowledge of LMS platforms

·         Great writing and communication skills – knows how to write a compelling and compliant job ad and other HR content, partners effectively with people across levels and functions within the organization

·         Experience and understanding of organizational development, training and L&D principles – strong program building skills, presentation and facilitation skills

·         Experience working in an entrepreneurial and highly collaborative team environment is a strong plus
