Position Summary:
The Director of Human Resources is strategic partner to the other department heads and is a proponent for the company and for the people who work for the company. The Director has the responsibility for ensuring the smooth operation of all personnel related administrative processes and recordkeeping functions including employee benefits, payroll processing, handbook and policies and work authorization requirements. The Director would also oversee and participate in the full cycle recruitment process including working with department heads to understand staffing needs and career development opportunities for employees, working with recruiters and recruitment resources, compensation benchmarking, interviewing, review of offers and the onboarding processes.
The Director would also be responsible for working with Department Heads on approvals for promotions, departmental transfers, disciplinary actions, terminations and related changes in compensation. The HR Director should also be experienced in compensation issues and conduct benchmark reviews of salaries as needed. The Director would drive the Company’s participation in the mid-year and annual Success Factors review process and coordinate with the President and global leadership on the finalization of ratings and compensation decisions resulting from the annual review process The Director is responsible for making sure the Employee Handbook accurately reflects all current policies, is compliant with law and that the Company’s HR policies and adhered to, consistently applied and aligned with the Company’s goals. The Director also works with vendors or develops other resources to carry out any mandatory employee training programs.
The HR Director also oversees the work of the HR Manager and works with the Finance Depart to review and recommend budget for HR including recruitment, relocation, development, and other consulting services needed by the Company. The HR Director would work with the HR Manager to lead the annual benefits renewal process, work with brokers to review bids and renewal options and communicate with the President and the management team on cost effective proposals that meet the needs of the employees.
In addition, the HR Director together with the HR Manager is responsible for working with department heads to discuss any staff issues, and to provide guidance and/or assist in resolving employee/employee or employee/manager conflicts.
The HR Director is the main point of contact with the Global Head of HR and is responsible for implementing global policies, communicating with the Company President regarding any new global HR initiatives, policies or procedures and participating in monthly global HR meetings and representing the Company’s views, experiences and challenges at such meetings. With regarding to the termination or recruitment of any VP roles the Director of HR would also deal with the Board delegate for the Company to keep him apprised and to arrange for his participation in the process and that of such other executives as may be appropriate.
The HR Director is also relied upon to identify and recommend continuous improvements to HR programs and processes to drive efficiencies, accuracy and enhance retention and the overall employee experience. The HR Director is expected to comply with professional standards and ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and laws pertaining to employment at all Company locations.
General Purpose: Actively manage and continually seek to improve all the functions of the Human Resources Department
Position Responsibilities:
• Oversee the effective operation of the Human Resources Department
with regard to payroll and benefits administration (including medical,
dental vision, 401k as well as like and other insurance coverages),
• Oversee recruitment and onboarding process.
• Work with Department Heads to meet staffing needs, develop career
paths for high potential employees and development plans for low
performers.
• Work with HR Manager to address employee issues and disputes and to
facilitate department requests for promotion, transfers, disciplinary
actions and terminations,
• Prepare or review Company-wide communications to employees on
HR matters,
• Act as primary contact for global HR group
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related discipline – Master’s Degree a plus 8-10 years of related professional experience
Demonstrated capacity to positively and professionally interact with all levels of the organization Strong verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of state and federal labor laws and regulations
PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
Strong skills with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Experience in compensation analysis and recruitment at all levels
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Self-starter who enjoys a fast-paced environment and can readily adjust to shifting priorities
