Payroll Compliance and Audit Specialist- Marlborough MA

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting or related field or relevant work experience

  • Minimum of five years' previous payroll processing experience

  • Prior Payroll and Tax compliance experience

    Essential Functions:

  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

     

  • Manage the Payroll tax process; process pay period liabilities and funding transactions, maintain reconciliations, reconcile quarterly and annual variances/filings, execute agency notices, and coordinate Ultipro Payment Services.

  • Research and set up new states with required stat agencies and in Ultipro as it pertains to State withholdings, unemployment, sick leave, medical leave, family leave, and worker's compensation.

  • Oversee and maintain work authorization and eligibility by keeping up with the most recent process for I-9 compliance; monitor and follow up on document expirations, monitory tax filing status and set up, monitor tax exemptions related to work authorization.

  • Maintain and audit Job Descriptions to ensure accurate FLSA and EEO designations. Ensure that the proper designations are maintained in both job description database and in Ultipro Core Payroll system.

  • Coordinate and spearhead all HR Team Audits, including NCUA, Wolf, Risk management, Worker's Compensation, External CUSO audits, MA Pay Equity Audits, and Physical Check stock. This role will also prepare the written review of UltiPro’s SOC reports and assist with Mass Paid Family Medical Leave compliance.

  • Execute required payroll and HR compliance report filings, i.e. Veteran's Reporting, EEO-1 Reporting, as well as DOL and Affirmative Action Planning

  • Assist with future enhancements to Ultipro modules and make recommendations for compliance related changes.

  • Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting or related field or relevant work experience

  • Minimum of five years' previous payroll processing experience

  • Prior Payroll and Tax compliance experience

  • Additional Eligibility Requirements:

  • Previous Payroll and/or Accounting experience preferred

  •  
  • Monitor and maintain employees in temporary status to align with internal policies, monitor float and remote staff for proper resident and work state taxation.

  • Provide back up as needed for weekly payroll processing, and/or process payroll twice per year for payroll contingency planning, as well as assist with other payroll related projects and maintenance

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by Managers(s).
