Job Description: We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions. Applies principles of accounting to analyze various financial information and help prepare financial reports by performing the following duties. Senior accountant duties also include ensuring accuracy, timeliness and effectiveness in all of our accounting tasks.

Responsibilities and Duties 

  • Prepare monthly financial statements with budget to actual variance analysis.

  • Monthly reconciliation of tenant AR ledger to General Ledger, research and reconcile variances and perform financial statement review and analysis.

  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and intercompany account reconciliations.

  • Prepare and submit bank transfers.  

  • Prepare and submit quarterly reports to investors, supporting documents for replacement reserve reimbursements, process and upload all real estate tax payments.

  • Calculate monthly management fees and post related journal entries.

  • Monthly reconciliation of unrestricted and restricted gifts/donations and releases.

  • Reconcile bi-weekly payroll and related payroll reimbursements. 

  • Maintain monthly fixed asset schedule for capital additions to various properties.

  • Support finance team – AR and AP staff accountants.

  • Process requisitions for properties in development, monitor and reconcile development financial activity and maintain supporting schedules and backup.

  • Timely preparation of audit workpapers and audit packages for various properties.


  • Four to six (4-6) years’ progressive experience in the accounting field.

  • Ability to work with tight deadlines and multiple projects with competing deadlines.

  • BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant.

  • Thorough knowledge of not-for-profit accounting policies and procedures.

  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process

  • Experience with Yardi software strongly preferred.
